TIPS
STAIN SOLUTIONS
BLOOD
To remove blood stains from a carpet or fabric, combine 1 tsp dish soap with 2 c. cold water. Blot directly on the blood stain, repeatedly. Alternatively, try 1/2 c. warm water + 1 Tbs ammonia. Apply directly to stain, and rinse with cold water.
GUM
To remove gum from a surface rub the area with an ice cube until the gum becomes brittle. Once brittle, scrape off with a butter knife.
WATER-SOLUBLE STAINS
For water-soluble stains such as grape juice, soda, mud or coffee use a simple cleaning solution:
1/4 tsp nonbleach detergent/vinegar
+ 32 oz water.
WAX
Place a paper towel over the carpet and iron on warm setting. The wax should come up off the carpet and stick to the paper towel.
